Main reason for dieing of Worms2 community are routers.
But as many other problems this one have solution too.
Following is detailed instructions on how to do this. If you didnt fammiliar
with your router or PC, ask someone who is to do this or you can visit
this site
and pick your router type and read instructions about Port forwarding.
* * * * *
First you have to configure your router to allow some ports not to
be blocked (port forwarding).
-
Open your browser (IE, Opera, Netscape...) and enter in your's
router settings .
-
You may need to enter a username and password. By default the
username and password are both usually set to 'admin'.
This should then take you to the main menu
-
Somewhere on your interface you should have 'NAT Virtual
Server' or 'DMZ' Configuration.
-
You then have to click the 'Add' button to add a 'NAT'
Rule. Enter the following information into the boxes: In
both Destination port and Local port insert ports
number 47624, range 1000-3212, 17000, 5431 and 53 .
Now you should be able to join games.
If you also want be able to host games then you need IP Switcher.
You can download it here.
Folow instructions bellow.
-
Open up the IP Switcher and choose your version of Frontend
-
Then press the 'Refresh Information' button. It should
say 'Worms 2 detected' at the side of the button
-
Go onto WhatIsMyIP.com
to find out your IP address from your ISP, not the router's one
(192.168..)
-
You need to enter this IP address into the field on the IP Switcher
and then press the 'Set New IP' button
-
You should see 'Current IP' change to the IP address you
have typed in
-
DONE
Now you should be able to host and others to join you.
NOTE: DON'T CLOSE THE IP SWITCHER
during the game.
Another important thing is that once you get back into the room after
game, REMEMBER TO 'SET NEW IP'
again otherwise people will not be able to join your games. You will
need to do this EVERYTIME you want to host another game. You
will have to go back to the room and repeat the process again.
I hope this going to work for you like it did for many others.
Good luck and have fun!!
